Personal Statement
I have been playing hockey since I was five years old and have learned many positive attributes from it, such as teamwork, respect, and the value of competition. All of these qualities have helped shape the person I am today.
I have played hockey at various levels, always giving my all and impressing coaches with my knowledge and skill. As I mature, I am focusing more on my development as a hockey player, setting aside time to work out and attend personal training sessions on a regular basis to develop new skills. This is in addition to high school and travel hockey practices. I have only missed practice due to injury or illness. I am very appreciative of all of the time, effort and dedication on the part of my coaches and parents towards helping me get to the next level. In addition to hockey, I enjoy playing lacrosse in the spring as a means of staying physically fit and to exercise the mental part of my game as I prepare for next season’s tryouts. While playing sports, I have been able to maintain my grades and honor roll status at my school. In addition, on May 22, 2018, I was pleasantly surprised to be awarded The Brother Kenneth Robert Scholarship at St. Mary’s High School.
I hope to succeed in pursuing my goal of playing hockey after high school while simultaneously obtaining a higher education. I believe my skill set and work ethic will prove to be an asset to whoever is willing to give me an opportunity to play at the next level, and look forward to what the future holds for me.
