Personal Statement
For me, one of my proudest achievements in high school hockey was being named one of three MVP's in my junior varsity league during my freshman year. But, where I learned the most was the following year, during which my varsity team had only won three games the entire season. This experience taught me how to keep calm, not lose my temper, and play my own game no matter the score or the team. I believe that my ability to stay focused and play my game no matter what will help me compete at higher levels.
I was influenced to play this sport because both my sister and my father played a competitive sport at a high level, and this urged me to follow in their footsteps. Throughout my career, many experiences have helped me gain confidence as a goaltender, such as being a 2-time champion in the Long Island Hockey League. I plan to keep growing, keep improving, and I aspire to at as high a level as I can reach. I believe that my academic and athletic skill will help take me there. I have already made a huge leap from playing Tier II to playing Tier I, and I plan on climbing higher.
