Personal Statement
I started playing hockey at the age of six. It wasn’t long after that I realized my passion for goaltending. I loved being the last line of defense, preparing myself mentally for that next shot and learning how to read the play as it was approaching down the ice. My most memorable experience was the summer of 2019 when I was selected as one of eight goalies to attend New York State development camp. I was so fortunate to be amongst such talented players and coaches.
Being a goaltender has taught me perseverance, commitment, patience and leadership both on and off the ice. My academics have and always will be very important to me. I approach my studies with the same mindset as a goaltender, work hard, prepare and focus. I challenge myself in school with advanced classes, honors programs, business programs and volunteer work outside of school. My goal is to continue to develop on the ice, keep my gpa in the high nineties and have the opportunity to play hockey at a high collegiate level with a strong academic program. My strong work ethic, compete level and character would make me a great fit for your program.
