Personal Statement
I have skated since I was 3 and started playing hockey at 5. It is my goal to play competitive college hockey. I have gradually worked my way up from playing house in my local area to playing AAA in Detroit from U15 to U18 while billeting away from home. I am skilled and versatile, able to play both as a forward and a defenseman. I am tough on the boards and in front of the net and not afraid to go in the corners. I win board battles, control the puck well, and create opportunities, and ensure I am outlet for my team mates. I set up plays well and make quality shots on net and back check hard, truly playing all 200 of the ice. For college I am interested in studying healthcare/sports medicine as well as business. I am a member of the National Honor Society and have a 3.7 GPA in an honors course/AP track. I am a very dedicated, hardworking student athlete. I know that what I do, both as a student and an athlete, matters, not just to myself, but also to my team mates and others. This is why leading by example matters. I want to find a college where I can get the most out of my experience both on the ice and to prepare me for my future.
