Personal Statement
I would like to introduce myself to you. My name is Luca Restauri, and I am a respectful, dedicated, hardworking individual who accepts any challenge given to him and will find a way to excel. I have been brought up in a family who has taught me to work hard towards my goals and to be a good person both on and off the ice. I am very well rounded knowing that academics, sports, and work are all important.
Regarding school, I enjoy learning new things and I work hard to make sure that I get good grades. I am respectful of my teachers and I have learned to adapt to a split between in-class and virtual learning modes. I am hopeful that I can pursue a career in sports management or in sports medicine. I would like for my love of sports to translate into a college education that I will love just as much. I also work part time every summer at my family's business. I am responsible for site cleanup at our construction company which teaches me real life responsibilities.
Playing sports has always been a passion of mine. My hockey career has consisted of eight years playing for the same AAA hockey team and in my first year of high school I played on the Varsity Hockey team as one of only two first year players. I am a team first individual and always look to help my team in any way possible both on and off the ice. My leadership and good sportsmanship were acknowledged over the past 4 seasons as I was the Assistant Captain of my AAA Hamilton Huskies hockey team. I always come to the rink ready to give my full effort and I realize that hockey practice is just as important as a game. Over the years I have played many different high level sports including lacrosse, baseball, football, volleyball, basketball, and golf. My individual goal is always to become a better overall athlete.
During this current 2020 season, although a year of uncertainty, I continue to work very hard at developing my skills. I work out regularly with a personal off-ice trainer, I attend individual skills development sessions and I train with my team regularly. I am confident that any coach, will not be disappointed in allowing me to be part of your hockey team. I am very excited for my future in hockey!
