Hello, my name is Beckett Palmer-Stephen.
I am very interested in playing hockey at the Collegiate and/or University levels. I am currently involved for the 2020-2021 season with the Napanee Raiders (Junior ice hockey team based in Napanee, Ontario, Canada. They play in the Provincial Junior Hockey League of the Ontario Hockey Association). I was previously involved with Quinte Red Devils AAA Hockey Club for the 2019-2020 Major Midget year. I had been involved with Greater Kingston AAA Jr. Frontenac Hockey Organization (now renamed Greater Kingston Junior Gaels) since Major Atom season (2013-2014) to my Minor Midget season (2018-2019). My current position is Right Wing but have also competed, as Center and Defenseman. I am versatile and open to doing what is best for the team. I have been Assistant Captain during my Major Bantam and Minor Midget years. In April 2019, I was drafted to the Sarnia Sting during the 2019 OHL Priority Selection draft. Playing at the next level is a major commitment and a once in a life time opportunity but it is one I believe myself to be ready for, if the opportunity arises. Hockey has been my passion since the moment I stepped onto the ice and I hope to continue playing at the highest level that I possibly can.
I push myself to excel both on and off the ice. I’m very coachable. I strive to be a team player, leader and the kind of player that everyone respects. I have volunteered with my hockey teams and have completed volunteer work on my own in an effort to give back to the community. I have work hard on and off the ice to do my very best in everything I do. My ambition is to progress and grow as much as I can as a player, a student, and a person.
I currently attend Regiopolis-Notre Dame high school in Kingston, Ontario and am in grade 12 (2020 -2021 academic year), where I have worked and studied hard to get the best grades possible. My total average for grade 11 was 97.5%, grade 10 was 96.62% and my total average from grade 9 was 94.87%. I have played hockey, soccer, and cross-country running for my school at various grade levels and competed at OFSAA (Ontario Federation of School Athletic Associations) meet during my grade 9 year but was unable to pursue this activity, due to a conflict with my hockey schedule.
I really look forward to speaking to any schools interested. I am open to hearing from hockey staff and coaches about your programs and how pursuing my interest in becoming a student athlete within your school program would benefit us both.
