Academics and Athletics are equally important to me. I am a 6'3 177lb Drafted goaltender. I am focused on playing NCAA Div I hockey in the near future. I am interested in studying Commerce/ Business while attending college. I have been described as a big, athletic goalie who has an imposing presence in the net. I have been described as being quiet in my crease with an efficiency of movement that allows me to make tough saves look relatively easy. I am ultra competitive and believe myself to be a leader on and off the ice. I have been a part of teams that were weak and conversely ultra strong. Both experiences have taught me that there are different types of pressure and it allowed me to learn how to play and excel in every game situation. I believe in practicing hard, focusing on refining my skills as it will carry over to games. The game, and my craft are my passions and I am constantly watching video and speaking with other goalies and goalie trainers. This allows me to weigh opinions and educate me in the mechanics of my position. My youth hockey career has afforded me so many great friends and memories. It has also given me tragedy....while a part of the 2003 Bantam Don Mills Flyers, my goalie Partner and friend Roy Pejcinovski was murdered along with his Mother and younger sister. This tragedy happened during our playoff run. The coaches, and players decided along with the parents of the team to continue our season and focus our energy to honoring our friend , teammate and brother. Losing my goalie partner was extremely tough on all of us. We came together as a team and went on to win the city championship and Provincial Championship dedicating both to Roy and his family.
Academically, I attend St. Michael's College school in Toronto, Canada. St. Michael's has along and distinguished reputation academically and athletically especially in regards to hockey. I have been an Honor Role student since Grade 8, and currently I have a 3.8 GPA and am striving for higher. Athletically I have played on the Varsity Hockey teams since Grade 8 winning multiple Championships. The Varsity Hockey team is the prestigious sports team at the school because of its long standing reputation developing future NHL players and community leaders. It was a very big honor to put that school jersey on every time. My School hockey memories are some of my favorite hockey memories and my teammates will be life long friends.
I have been blessed with a great family and I am grateful for it. My entire family is athletic. My Father has a distinguished soccer career, as did my older brother. My step Mother and step sister both excelled at tennis. The family dynamic is important to me as it has molded me as a person, student and athlete. I truly believe that I would be a great fit and asset to any College program because I am driven to excel both on and off the ice.
