My name is Connor MacDougall, and I have been playing hockey since I was four years old. I am originally from Antigonish, Nova Scotia, but moved to Waterdown, Ontario in November 2016. I have always played hockey at the AA level, and immediately joined the Flamborough Sabres’ Bantam AA team. I have continued to play for the Flamborough Sabres for the 2017-2018 to 2019-2020 seasons (Midget AA).
While playing hockey, I have been fortunate to enjoy success. During my Major Atom year, in addition to being in the top five in league scoring, I also received an award from my team as the Outstanding Offensive and Defensive player. I was also in the league’s top five in scoring during my Major Peewee year.
In February of 2018, my Achilles tendon was severed after delivering a hit during a game. After successful surgery, I trained at the Wave Fitness Training Centre in Burlington, ON from June to August 2018. I was determined to return to the level of hockey I have played throughout minor hockey. After narrowly missing the Burlington Eagles AAA team (last cut), I returned to the Flamborough Midget AA Sabres for the 2018-2019 season.
In addition to hockey, I have played soccer for the Antigonish Tier II Celtics since I was eight years old. I also enjoy tennis, biking, and canoeing. Growing up in a rural community has allowed me to discover fishing and hunting, both of which I enjoy very much. Working on my uncle’s dairy farm in Nova Scotia has helped me develop a hard work ethic, and a sense of responsibility.
