Personal Statement
My collegiate goals are to further my education and hockey career in a environment that best suits me. What makes me a good candidate for your team and sets me apart from other recruits is my positional versatility and my physicality. My main position is defense, but depending on what my team needs, I can also play offense. I have a hard accurate shot from the point, and in the offensive zone, I am at my best driving to the net on the rush. I am exceptionally physical in all aspects of my game. I use my size and physicality to protect the puck on the walls and to check. I hit everyone that touches the puck. I block lots of shots and am great at getting stick on puck and stealing the puck from others. My character also sets me apart. I have exceptional leadership skills, am honest, and dependable. My coaches and teammates recognize me as a team player. As a teammate, I am always supportive and encouraging. I try to pick others up when they are down. I am hard working and give 100 percent all the time on and off the ice, especially with my studies. I balance a challenging course load with my hockey schedule and other activities. As a Boy Scout, I have achieved Life Scout and am progressing toward Eagle Scout. In all aspects of my life, I am dedicated to doing everything to the best of my abilities.
