Shane Kozlina '22 Recruiting Profile

     Hockey has been such an integral part of my life for as long as I can remember.  Many things have come and gone, but hockey has been a constant.  Hockey has filled my life with countless memories; and it has taught me both personal and life skills.  I have had the privilege to play on multiple winning teams, be an essential part of power plays and penalty kills, and a leading scorer.  However, the seasons spent on teams which struggled, did not have winning records and, ultimately, missed the play-offs were the ones in which I learned the most about myself and my hockey skills.  It was during those seasons that I learned the value of teamwork, commitment and leadership. 

     I am looking for a program that will be a good fit for me athletically as well as academically.  I believe I not only have the talent to compete for a college team, but also the character, work-ethic and leadership skills to make an immediate impact on your program.   As I grow both physically and mentally during my college hockey career, I envision myself as both a dynamic player on the ice, as well as an asset to the team off the ice through my unassuming leadership skills and mutual respect.  Following graduation, I plan to use both the quality education I have received as well as my student-athlete experiences to pursue my professional career.
