I've been playing hockey since I was 6 years old, while attending a learn to skate program with my older brother Justin (Kanas City Royals 2017 MLB draft pick). Since then I've developed passion for playing the most scrutinized position in sport. Attending college will be more than academics and athletics for me because I get great satisfaction in helping others succeed.
Being a leader on and off the ice is important to me. I demand my teammates and classmates perform to the best of their ability. Even though there are not many 'C's on goalies jerseys, I feel one doesn't need to be a Team Captain to be a leader. Every successful team or group has formal leaders, but just as important, informal leaders, that help hold the group accountable to each other and who are often unseen to the outside observer. I am willing to continue to put in hard work and dedication on/off ice and in the classroom to do what it takes to play college hockey, earn a degree and succeed, while also helping others do same.
