Personal Statement
When I was younger my brother battled an aggressive form of cancer. During his recovery, I spent all my time playing hockey in my garage and driveway. This led me to spend extraordinary amounts of time practicing to become the best hockey player possible. Hockey was always there for me, and I realized the true value of hard work and dedication and its impact on me as a person, player, and teammate. I have exceptional hockey instincts which allow me to play the game in the best manner along with my speed, hands, and playmaking abilities. I am a 2 way center who is not shy to use my skating ability to skate the puck. I am committed to playing just as hard in the defensive zone as I am in the offensive zone. I take as much pride in killing penalties and blocking shots as I do in scoring. Furthermore, I am not afraid to have a voice on my team to help us succeed. Another aspect of my life outside of hockey is my academic life. I put hours into school work to help me perform my best in class to keep up good grades and will continue to do so in the future.
