Hunter Yurcik '25 Recruiting Profile

My name is Hunter Yurcik.  I am 17 years old.  I am 5 foot 9 inches tall and weigh 150 pounds. I have been playing hockey for 6 years. Since 2020 I have been part of the Nashville Jr. Predators Organization out of Nashville TN.  I played 2 years on 14U AA and 1 year for the 16U AA teams.  The upcoming 2023/2024 season I have signed to play with the Northeast Generals Academy, part of the NAPHL, Tier 1 16U AAA team  in Attleboro Massachusetts.

Since my Crohn’s disease diagnosis in 2010, I have been able to stay dedicated and passionate about playing the game of hockey, as I am always the first and last to arrive and leave from practice and games.  I pride myself in being a team player, always giving my best at every practice and every game. I try to make sure everyone gets a chance on the team no matter their skill level.  

My dream or goal is to play hockey at the collegiate level. But want to make juniors after high school.  I would like to attend a University with a high competitive athletic level and academic reputation, while being able to play hockey and receive a good education. I currently do not have a major, but would like to be able to obtain an education in any related fields pertaining to hockey such as:  coaching, statistician, personal trainer, physical therapist or sports announcer.    

My ultimate athletic goal is to continue playing the game of hockey at a high competitive level while being able to make a positive impression to those on my team and around me.

Knowing I have put my best skates forward on and off the ice while maintaining a smile and positive attitude makes my goal all worthwhile.
