Personal Statement
As a junior in high school I am still trying to figure out exactly where my career interests will fall but I am currently very interested in pursuing a degree in Sports Management. My goal is to find a school where I can play Division 1 hockey, get a great education and continue to improve my game. Having attended a few college hockey games while travelling to tournaments I enjoy the pace of the game and the atmosphere in the stadium. I love the game of hockey and became interested in the sport at an early age after going to Dallas Stars games with my dad. I have played for the Dallas Stars Elite Hockey Club since I was six years old.
I consider myself to be a hard worker and I have been told that I am very coachable. My focus and ability to see the ice well allows me to make quick decisions and I love to compete. I believe my Montessori background in education through 7th grade has helped me to become very self motivated, independent and accountable player. In addition to my regular team practice schedule I have consistently trained twice a week in academies and private lessons since an early age.
Giving back to the organization is important to me and I have very much enjoyed opportunities to assist the coaches during camps and clinics for the younger kids. These are great opportunities to watch the younger players develop and learn how to teach others.
