I began playing hockey in my town rink with my family and close friends when I was very young. My enthusiasm for the sport grew as my friends and I continued to play. We were encouraged to join our local youth program up at Norwich University/Northfield Youth Hockey Association. What began as fun with friends turned into a love for the sport and a growing desire to get better.
I've had opportunities to play on higher level teams - two years ago with VT Black Ice where we played up to some AAA Canadian teams throughout New England and Quebec. I also had the opportunity to attend a prospect camp for the Madison Capitols in Philadelphia last year. I've just entered my freshman year playing for the Northfield High School program and found a new challenge with the faster game which has only increased my passion for playing...
Academics are very important to me and I hold myself to very high standards. I'm fortunate to be involved with a competitive group of friends in both the academic area as well as sports. We push each other both on the ice in the classroom, on the lacrosse and soccer fields. I'm taking college prep courses this year and will continue that track over the next 4 years. I'm maintaining a 3.70 GPA and will do everything I can to succeed in my High School. I'm also a musician. I play tenor sax for my HS Jazz Band.
My goals for the future are to work hard in the classroom and on the ice to help me attend the best school possible- ideally with a scholarship. My parents are very supportive and have helped me a both physically, scholastically and mentally. I owe it to them and myself to work on this gift I have for sports and academics and will do everything I can to succeed to represent my school, my team and my family.
