James Mikos '24 Recruiting Profile

I am a focused and determined 17-year-old high school sophomore Ice Hockey Goalie.  I have the unwavering support of my Mom and Dad.  Their never-ending sacrifices to support my dreams and generosity in being my biggest fans has been the example I strive to achieve.  My father’s attention to detail and hard work has taught me work ethic is everything.  My mother’s sacrifices to be my chauffeur, cheerleader, and confidant set the example of being a team player.  Since I was 4 years old, they have been there for me always.

As I am the last line of defense before the puck crosses into the net, I am willing to sacrifice my body, heart, and soul to prevent a score against the Team.  In addition to my ice abilities, I am an honors student-athlete who strives to be the best and works hard to accomplish these goals.  I am coachable, always eager, and willing to learn to grow as an athlete and student.

I bring energy, motivation, and encouragement to my teammates. Hockey is a team sport, so I get the Team Spirit on the ice or the bench.  I believe trust is earned through hard work and dedication, so I strive to lead by example - taking responsibility for my actions, whether positive or negative.  I am here to WIN and will always learn from our losses to improve both as a teammate and student.
