Calin Erdmann '15 Recruiting Profile

I am a 5’10” Senior from Rhinelander, Wisconsin with a 3.85 GPA in very challenging accelerated, grade advanced, and AP courses.   I have extensive experience in elite AAA teams as well as the Wisconsin Elite Hockey League first playing as wing for most of my youth hockey years, followed by defense during my first three years of high school where I excelled as an offensive defenseman, receiving All Conference recognition in high school my junior year and winning a WI state title qualifying for Tier II Nationals with my regional WEHL 16U team. During the 2014-15 season and my senior year, I chose to play for the Northern Cyclone’s Eastern Junior Elite Prospects Hockey League 18U team in the Boston area.  My time was primarily split between wing and center, occasionally filling in at defense during times of need including our New Hampshire U18 state title win.  As a very defensive forward with a very high estimated +/- score, during post season play, I was also one of my team’s leading point scorers, and all season long was a specialized penalty killer.  This past season I played Defense for the Aspen Leafs in the RMJHL. We  finished the season with the record of 34-6. I had a personal stat line of 38 games played, with 7 goals and 31 assists, placing me at 9th in the league in assists and 18th for total points, and the highest for a defenseman.  One of my strongest assets has always been my disciplined penalty kill and that I play both ends of the ice-I am a skilled player in any skating position.  Co-development as both forward and defense at this high level of play has made me a more versatile and valuable player, proven to excel at any position or situation that would benefit both myself and my team.  My desire is, and I look forward to, continuing to play hockey as either Forward or defenseman while receiving a great college education.
