I have been playing hockey for fourteen years and in that time, my goal has never changed: to earn a college degree, build a strong path to a career, and play college hockey.
I am interested in earning a degree in a field related to law/criminal justice/protective services with a path to military/government service. It is my hope to find a school that is a good fit for me and my interests, that can provide me with a quality education with plenty of opportunities to prepare for my future career, and will allow me to play the sport I love, hockey! I am presently working very hard during my high school years to keep myself on a path to a great college and a bright future. I am taking advanced coursework and maintaining an extremely high GPA, all while working as a USA Hockey Level 3 official and participating in numerous volunteer experiences in my community.
As a hockey player, first and foremost, I consider myself to be an excellent teammate. I believe character and leadership are what binds a team together. I am a defenseman, one that is extremely loyal to my line mate. I ALWAYS back him up. I communicate well both on and off the ice, am willing to rush the puck up, yet I understand that I can not rush it every time. My compete level is exceedingly high, puck handling skills are strong, and I see the ice well, which leads to smart decisions.
The journey through youth and midget hockey is a long and difficult one. However, I find that with each step forward, each practice, each game, each new season, there is always something to learn, something to build off of, something that continues to push me down this road with a positive attitude and a great work ethic. I look forward to the opportunity to bring all that I have learned and all that I have become to the collegiate level, both academically and on the ice!
