I love to learn and to push myself to be the best. Improving myself as a person and an athlete, by learning and taking in everything I can, is something I value greatly. Learning, attempting, and revising whatever I am working on is part of the lifelong pursuit of becoming the best version of myself that I can be. Other passions in my life are my family and friends. I am extremely loyal to the ones who are closest to me, and will protect and stand up for them no matter the situation. I am a kind, selfless, and humble person. It comes naturally to value the needs of other people, which allows me to be empathetic and thoughtful. My ability to know how others feel, and predicting how they will react upon those feelings, allows me to analyze situations, help my teammates, and in the long-run greater benefit the team.
Learning is not the only thing I love. I also love to win. My desire to win is something that I believe sets me apart from others. In my Freshman basketball season I was awarded MVP. My coach said, “Aidan has an unwavering desire to win, and wants to win so badly he takes over the game at times.” This was the best compliment because it showed my coach and teammates I wanted to be out there playing, leading and doing everything I can to help the team win. On and off the field I want to compete. Whether it is lacrosse, basketball, or school, my ability to will myself to the top is one of my defining characteristics.
Academics are an extremely important part of my life. I value a good education, and constantly push myself in school to achieve my highest potential. One of my goals is to achieve higher than a 4.1 G.P.A. by the end of high school. When selecting a college, how I fit in academically will be at the top of my list. However, my desire to succeed does not inhibit me from growing and learning from my mistakes. I am a big believer that failure is a necessary part of success. I stay grounded during challenging times by reminding myself setbacks are part of the process of becoming the best that I can be. When I set a goal for myself, it takes a lot to prevent me from reaching it.
