Alex Ochs '09 Recruiting Profile

When I step onto the Lacrosse field, it's a rush that compares to nothing else. I started out as a soccer player and ran track for many years but, this is the sport that I never want to give up. My name is Alex Ochs. I currently play lacrosse for Oak Ridge High School. My position is midfield. I am quick on the field and I believe offensive and defensive hustle win games. I am in the top 10% of my graduating class. In my spare time, I help coach the Pee-Wee lacrosse team. I want to help lacrosse grow out West. My future goal in college is to play lacrosse while attending a school with high academic standards. I believe that my education is the most critical component to achieving success as an adult. Playing lacrosse would round out my education by providing skills necessary for success that classrooms cannot provide. I know for a fact that I can make a successful transition into college based on several important factors. First, I was an exchange student for 3 weeks in China. I learned to survive without my parents and more importantly how to survive a huge communication barrier. Second, my parents moved from Oregon to California midway through my freshman year. The transition was a little bumpy, I survived and I am doing well. I live on the west coast and do not have the exposure that many Lacrosse players receive. I believe I have the skills, heart, determination, and self discipline to play Lacrosse at the college level.
