I started to play lacrosse because one day I saw it on T.V and I asked my mom to sign me up to play. She asked me why and I said, "Because it has the three things I like to do: running fast, scoring goals, and hitting people with sticks." My mom signed me up, and I fell in love with the game right after my first practice.
Six years later, and I still enjoy everything about the game. I started off playing midfield and taking face offs. Then if my coach ever needed me to play attack I played the position as hard and as smart as I could. I first picked up a pole at a tournament in middle school because they didn't have enough defensive players so my coach asked the team who wanted to play and I volunteered. He gave me a pole and let me have fun. I didn't get to play defense very often because I was needed as a middie. This past summer I was lucky enough to play with a very good club team and the head coach put me where the team needed the most help. I was a big impact playing LSM and helping my team defensively rather then helping out by playing shorty, so I took the role of a defensive leader.
I have been put in many different positions over my lacrosse career so I have been able to learn the game from many different views on the field. All I want is to continue playing lacrosse for as long as I can no matter what position it is.
