Personal Statement
Hello Coaches! As I have a deep love for lacrosse like all recruits, my goals are to; have the chance to play collegiate lacrosse at a highly competitive level, attend a university/college that challenges me academically while providing a diverse, exciting learning environment, to meet new people and make friends, and to be a part of a community of individuals that want to make a difference in the world. Included in these main goals is the overall purpose of being a part of a team of brothers working hard and sacrificing together for a common goal. I believe I am a good candidate because I play from the perspective of the team comes first. I will do whatever it takes and play whatever role is required of me for what is best for the team. I believe my ability to see the field and process information rapidly, my understanding of defensive strategies, the ability to make quick decisions, to improvise when needed, my leadership on and off the field, and my physicality together as a skill set, makes me different from other recruits. I am a hard, disciplined worker that always tries to encourage my teammates when they need to be picked up and I think that I am very coachable because I believe in the process and goals set out by my coaches. As a young athlete, I played lacrosse, as well as youth football, and the coaches I had, were very strict, but fair; teaching me that listening and respect are the foundations of a great coach/player relationship. Academically, I always try to challenge myself as witnessed by my course selection of honors and AP courses. I am also a member of the National Honor Society. I am interested in pursuing either physical therapy and/or mental health including psychiatry. My career goal is to help people with physical and mental problems.
Thanks for your consideration and I look forward to hearing from you!
Ryan
