Henry Murphy '24 Recruiting Profile

I have been playing lacrosse since I was 8 years old after I watched my cousin win the Division III Championship at LeMoyne in Philadelphia. When I first started I had no idea what I was in for when I fell in love with the game and I never looked back.  

My goal is to become a Navy SEAL after college to serve our country as well as to help and protect the less fortunate people in our world who don’t have the freedom we do. To do this, I plan on participating in the Naval Reserve Officer Training Corps throughout college. This goal has made me a harder worker and a more disciplined person on and off the field. On the field I put in 100% whether it’s a game or a practice. Off the field I push myself academically, taking the hardest classes my school has to offer. 

I am highly coachable and a fast learner which makes it easy for me to remember and use plays in the right situation. I also quickly adapt to different situations which allows me to recognize and execute on the field.  I do the small things right and always out hustle my opponent on ground balls or fast breaks.  Off the field I recognize that being a student comes before athletics which is why I always put 100% into my classes. Last year I earned a 4.0 GPA which I aim to further increase my junior year.
