Personal Statement

My name is Lionel T. (“L. T.”)  Brown, II and I attend the highly ranked Maret School in Washington, DC. I play on both the varsity Lacrosse (LSM) and Basketball (Guard/Forward) teams. My NCAA goal is to play for either a D1 or a competitive D3 lacrosse program. I take lots of pride in my academics, and would also like to attend a school that challenges me in the classroom as well as on the field. A school with a highly ranked Humanities,  Marketing or Communications program would be of particular interest to me. Over the last year, I have really grown and matured as a person, athlete, and student. As an athlete, I have built a much better and more consistent work ethic and dedication and have become even more coachable. I also have more empathy for others, as well as a more thoughtful perspective on the world around me, due to the impact of COVID 19 on me and my family, as well as its impact on the lives of so many other people around the globe. I have traveled to three continents and consider myself a citizen of the world. I want to make a difference globally, and would like to play lacrosse at a University with an international mindset. I look forward to connecting with great schools that will enable me to achieve my aspirations!
