Personal Statement
I just finished my Freshman year at Florida Southern and gave notice to Coach Ward of my desire to Transfer. I loved playing for the Mocs, and started Attack all Fall Ball, and was switched to O-mid to fill a Team need in the Spring. I played in all Games and tallied 12 points. I'm looking for a larger campus and or college atmosphere where I can continue to pursue my Love of lacrosse and studies in Business. I finished my First Semester with a 3.1 GPA and now awaiting my Finals of 2nd Semester.
Finished my Junior Summer as Brine All-American and playing for Florida in the Brine NLC. Then went to Maryland with Team Florida for Battle of the Hotbeds where we Won the Championship (17 Goals and 9 assists during the Tourny). Also this Summer at Top 205 in Towson (6/20/12), I made the All Star Game, and scored 2 goals and 2 assists in 2 Quarters of play! On to Brine All-American NLC in DC representing Florida! I am a 5'10", 160lb "and growing" Junior at Wellington High School. I am a multi-sport athlete now focusing on Lacrosse and Football in High School. I have been playing Lacrosse for 8 years, 6 years at the travel level. I started as a Freshman on the Varsity team (Attack, and midfield) and scored 3 Goals in my first game. I earned MVP award my Sophomore year and made 1st Team All District and honorable mention all Region in South Florida at Midfield. My Coaches have selected me as Team Captain for this upcoming Season. We finished Winning District Championship (11-6) and I set School Scoring Record with 107 points (62 Goals and 45 Assists). I repeated as the Team MVP and also awarded "Offensive Player of the Year". I was selected 1st All District Attack, 1st Team All-Conference Attack and 2nd Team All Region, Honorable mention All State, and recently Brine All American playing in Brine National Lacrosse Classic 6/30-7/-3.
I have attended Syracuse Camp, Duke camp, and personal lessons with Tony Lowe and Chazz Woodson. I played last Summer on Casey Powell's Team 22 Club team as well as Team Florida (Jeff Goldberg, Chris Spalding, Tom West). I will be Attending Peak 200, Top 205, Brine National lacrosse classic, and Battle of the Hotbeds (Delaware) this Summer as a Rising Senior.
I want to play Lacrosse at the College level. I have attended the NCAA Championships the past 3 years and am in love with the sport. My greatest assest is my Vision (Love to Feed the open man--may come from my football experience as a QB) , and my Quickness. It is important to me to attend a college where academics are widely recognized (Focused area of Study in Business). The College can be Small or Large, North or South, as long as I can play Lacrosse and gain a great education, I'll give my heart and Soul to that institution. I am in Wellington HS Deca program (I was a District Winner and State finalist) and have a strong interest in Business and marketing, so if your school offers a strong curriculum in Business/marketing/finance and entrepeneurship that would be a definite plus.
