Personal Statement
I’ve experienced some heartbreaking moments in my lacrosse career including tournament losses, a state playoff defeat, career-ending teammate injuries, and bad games I’d like to forget. But none of these have kept me from getting back on the field to play again. Lacrosse has become my second home, my safe place when I need it. When I return to the field, other issues in my life fade away and my sense of calm returns. For me there’s no better feeling than being part of a team where everyone is pulling together for the same thing.
The opportunity I’ve had this past year to be a starting player as a freshman on the Varsity team has taught me about teamwork and overcoming fear. No matter how strong an opponent we face, all I can do is play my best, support the team, and rely on my teammates to do the same. That’s my goal every time I go on the field. And now that I am starting to coach younger teams, I’ve found a whole new way to contribute to lacrosse. These experiences on the lacrosse field have taught me lessons about life that will endure.
