While I may not have had the most years of playing experience, I can guarantee that I am entirely devoted to the sport of lacrosse. Growing up, my parents and I had always searched for a sport for me to truly fall in love with, although it typically resulted in me picking grass on assorted sports fields. When I was in seventh grade, my younger siblings were encouraged to pick up lacrosse from a friend of theirs who had invited them to join. Being the supportive big brother I am, I attended many of their games and was instantly hooked on the sport. The next year, I made the decision to join my local youth team and I've been playing ever since. Throughout my four years of lacrosse, I've naturally had my ups and downs. Consequently, as with any physical sport, your almost guaranteed to wind up with some injuries. However, no matter how much pain I was in, I was always adamant to my parents that I would still be at every game and practice cheering my teammates on.
I do believe that I am not just a good teammate, but a good friend to those around me. In fact, some people who I would consider to be my best friends I've met via my years of playing lacrosse. I consider myself a rather positive person and I'm always trying to lift the spirits of those around me. I'm always trying to be supportive of my peers whether on the field or off. Whether its just reminding them to get out of their own heads or giving them a ride to practice, I always make sure I'm there for anyone who may need me. Additionally, I am a rather coachable athlete and always maintain a can-do attitude. I am always willing to listen to what someone may be trying to tell me because, after all, that is the only way to grow stronger as both an athlete and a student. Finally, I am always willing to step-up and assume a leadership position if need-be. With my current program, I typically take charge and help lead my teammates through warm-ups and make sure everyone is ready to go for practice. Overall, I believe that my attitude, charisma, athletic abilities, and academic prowess make me a great candidate for any school looking to fill a spot on their roster. I hope that anybody who views this takes the time to truly consider me for the chance to play at your school.
