Personal Statement
My name is Grant Gilbertson and I am 5’11, 190 pounds.
When I play sports, I play for the name on the front of my jersey, not for the name on the back of it; being a team player is important to me. I strive to compete at the highest level possible and am always looking for a new challenge. As a sophomore, I became Leader of our varsity Lacrosse team; I was selected because of my commitment to, and unconditional love of, the game. I lead by example for the other players on the team. Since my freshman year, I have been a starter on my team, and I was the only freshman to get playing time. I would describe my playing style as unpredictable, aggressive, and explosive, all in an incredibly positive way that brings success to my team. I am always open to learning new ways of playing the game and new strategies, and I am not afraid of reaching outside of my comfort zone. Along with playing lacrosse, I also play ice hockey, and I am a lifter for my high school cheer team, as well as for an all-star cheer team. In college, I want to pursue a degree in nursing that will fulfill my goal of becoming a CRNA (Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist).
