Personal Statement
From the first time I touched a lacrosse stick I have loved the sport. The passion, heart, and determination behind the game is what makes it like no other. I began playing lacrosse in Wilton, Connecticut, where I was able to build a great foundation from one of the top programs there is. In sixth grade, my family moved to Fryeburg, Maine. I played three more years of middle school lacrosse, then moved up to Fryeburg Academy to play on the varsity team.
My first year of high school lacrosse was a huge year of development for me. My game got quicker, faster, and better. I was lifting five days a week and playing lots of wall ball and pickup lacrosse all off season. Because of this, I was able to score 22 points as a freshman.
After another whole year of camps, wall ball, and pickup games, my sophomore year rolled around. My stick skills with both hands were so much better than my previous year, and I had developed very quick feet. I had also organized varsity practices in the off season, gaining lots of respect from my teammates and coaches. Because of this, I was elected to be one of the captains of the varsity team. I ended my sophomore year as the highest scorer on the team, with 81 ground balls, 14 assists, and 36 goals, leading my team to its first playoff game ever.
My junior year is still to come, and I have been working harder than ever. Most importantly, my grades have been very high. I am in the top 5% of my class, with a GPA of 4.0 in all honors classes.
One thing that I have been told all my life from the people around me is I am a very hard worker. I am willing to do whatever it takes to improve my game. I am very coachable, and I guarantee that I am the most determined recruited you will find.
