Personal Statement
My name is Eli Steere, and I am a rising Senior in the Class of 2023 at Wells High School in Wells, Maine. I started playing lacrosse in third grade, and am excited to start my ninth season. Since I was a young player, I have loved the game of lacrosse and wanted to continue to work hard to improve my skills and lacrosse IQ; this is one of the many reasons that I hope to play lacrosse in college. I feel that the game has taught me so much about myself and how to work hard towards a goal and something that you want to succeed at; it has also provided me with many great friendships and a feeling of belonging to a team, whether it is at my own high school, on my club team or on a Select team that I am a part of. I hope to continue to meet more people and have more great experiences with the game of lacrosse and feel that college is the place to do that. I currently also play for the Maine Mussels Club Lacrosse program and am a member of the Navy team. I think that I would fit in well on a college roster because I feel that I am a natural leader, and I look to help my teammates as much as possible. I have been told by many coaches that I have great lacrosse IQ and field vision. I hope to continue to grow these skills. Another goal of mine is to get a good college education; I have always been a motivated student, having made High Honor Roll throughout my school years, thus far. I believe that my work ethic and motivation to continue to improve as a person, a player and a student help me to stand out from others.
