Chris Cottone '19 Recruiting Profile

I've been blessed to have had the opportunity to represent Calvert Hall Football & Lacrosse.  In Football I was a Place Kicker for 3 years. My 1st year on JV and then 2 years on Varsity Football. I capped off a successful Football season in 2017 by helping my team beat arch rival Loyola High School in the "Turkey Bowl, kicking game winning Extra Points.   I chose this my Senior year,  to focus on honing my skills at lacrosse.  I have devoted myself to improving my Offensive Skills this Summer and Fall. In my Sophomore year on JV Lacrosse I was a Team Captain and I focused on the strength of my offensive midfield play as I was recovering from a leg injury I sustained in Freshman year. I worked hard through the summer and fall between Sophomore, Junior year so I could return to the joy of facing off again. In 2018 I triumphantly returned to the "X" with a 67.47% win percentage, 112 Wins at the "X," helping my team repeat their 2017 success by once again winning the MIAA "AA" Conference championship against Boys Latin. I have continued my player development since then, honing my skills as a duel threat on the field, by working with legendary shooting Coach, Torre Kasemeyer, who taught Ryan Brown to shoot AND by working with the Top Face Off men from the NCAA & MLL at the Inner Circle Face Off training program.  The Inner Circle was developed by Coach Jeremy Rualo.  Coach Rualo considers all aspects of midfield play, recognizing that the face off game has changed drastically throughout the last few years. I am working hard this 2018 Fall season to excel as a duel threat player which I believe demonstrates my understanding of how the 80 second shot clock will change the game.  I focus on "Being the Best" at everything I do and I believe that hard-work beats talent when talent fails to work hard.
