Personal Statement
Being a military child I had to move a lot when I was younger. It was definitely the hardest thing for me as a young kid having to constantly meet new people and try to fit in with them while still being "the new kid". However, these multiple experiences of having to move and meet all new people have taught me how to be more outgoing. This has taught me to be a better teammate as I am the person on the team that the newer players or new people to the team look to for help. Before I played lacrosse I played football, which really taught me teamwork, self sacrifice, and leadership that I use in lacrosse today.
In our community, I am always looking for the chance to volunteer at the local elementary school or at the local church to help younger kids learn the game of lacrosse and develop into a great athlete. I became interested in lacrosse when I saw my next door neighbor and his brother playing catch around five years ago. From that point on I have been in love with the sport and all the aspects of the competition, teamwork, and brotherhood that goes into it. My biggest year for growing as a student athlete was my sophomore year. I learned that no matter what, there is always more I can do to better myself on the field and in the classroom. Everyday I look for something different to perfect in my sport or in my schoolwork.
I have been so lucky to be on an amazing high school program with a great team and amazing coaches, as well as fantastic travel teams. After high school I want to go to a four year college that will lead to a successful future. I cant wait to find the school that suits me best on the field and academically to continue my knowledge of the game and in the classroom, as well as my next team and coaches to continue my skills as a lacrosse player and to better myself as a person. I think I have what it takes to be a great player and a leader on any team!
