Personal Statement
I played lacrosse for Mount Olive and coach Kenny Hanna in Mount Olive, New Jersey. I also played for Coach Danziger On Jersey Thunder for the last 4 seasons. I have been playing lacrosse since 4th grade where I was voted captain and have since maintained this leadership position. As a starting goalie, I have a save percentage of 50%-60%. I am hardworking, driven, and coachable. I feel that I have the natural ability to be the communicator to the team as a goalie. I think quickly and am able to make split second decisions to connect with my teammates in pressure situations. I motivate my teammates to give 100% by leading by example. As the goalie, the last line of defense, it is my job to remain even-tempered when my team is down. I set the tone for the defense so that we can join forces to do our job. Although I see myself as a leader, I value the camaraderie that the sport of lacrosse requires. I inspire my teammates both on and off the field by dedicating myself to my athletic commitment, supporting my community, and academic success. I volunteer in a program at my school called “Best Buddies,” a partnership with students who have Autism Spectrum Disorder. During my time here I enjoy lunch and engage students in games that help build their social skills. I know that academics are the key to my future, so I pursue excellence in education through my rigorous honors coursework and in assisting others to reach success as well through tutoring. I have recently transferred to Pope John XXIII Highshool in Sparta, NJ where I hope to further my education and experience in lacrosse, while keeping my faith in mind. My future goals include participation in high school lacrosse, and continuing to do my best in the classroom, as well as the attendance of a Division-1 level university, and a career in business.
