Playing lacrosse in New Mexico sometimes seems like playing lacrosse on Mars. The sport is club up until high school, and high school is played like club. The feel of lacrosse here is far from out on the East Coast, but I am determined to play at the highest level I can. My Junior season started with a flurry of games in a few weekends, including the Best of the West tournament in Las Vegas, Nevada. I was able to play only 3 full conference games, and I felt the rest of the season would help me develop more into the player I wanted to be by the end of the season. But, with my season cut short, I had to continue to work on my own. I used the time away from the team in quarantine to work on my body, and sharpen my stick skills to be prepared for the opportunity to play in July. I also studied players at all higher levels at my position to learn what I could not get from playing. When July finally came around I felt as prepared as I could be, and I preformed at the highest level I have yet in my career. My passion for lacrosse has taken up a lot of my time and focus, and my will to play better keeps me determined. I want to go to a small school with a close knit community, and I want to be coached by a coach who works at developing players and men on the team to be better. I am excited to play at the next highest level and compete everyday to play.
