Personal Statement
I participated in organized sports/activities for as long as I can remember and I excelled in everything, (except swimming) from karate, soccer, baseball, basketball, flag football and football. My introduction to lacrosse in Brooklyn, New York in the third grade was different but very familiar to me. I found a sport that combined aspects of all the sports I loved and all the athletic skills I possessed. By the sixth grade, lacrosse became my preferred sport.
I strive to be successful in everything I do both academically and in sports. My mother instilled in me the belief that “failure is not an option and neither is quitting.” Coaches often say I am selfless with the ball. Lacrosse enhanced my sense of being a team player. Whether I am defending the goal or assisting with a goal, I feel responsible for my decisions and actions and I also feel a sense of responsibility to my teammates. For me, lacrosse is a game of life; you play hard and fair to win for yourself and others.
