My name is Shane Wyman and I am very interested in playing at the next level for a competitive college team. However, my education is my top priority and walking out of college with an Engineering Degree is my end goal. If the right engineering school is found, then I'm 100% in to get my degree and compete on the lacrosse team.
Ever since I was little I loved the sport of lacrosse. I went to all my older cousin's college games and had a stick in my hands from that point onward. I officially started playing lacrosse as a 1st grader learning the basic skills. I now play for Columbia High School's Boy's Lacrosse Team and the Rogue Lacrosse Team for off-season during the summer.
I earned the "Mr. Blue Devil" Award in my 2016 JV Lacrosse season for Columbia High School which is an award for the player that always listened to what my coach had to say and then went out and did what was needed, whether we needed that groundball, that stop, or that play, I was the guy to get it done. Also, in my second sport of volleyball I earned the Chris Bascom "Mr. Hustle" Award for always playing to 100% of my ability even if my team would be losing greatly.
I love lacrosse for a myriad of reasons but the one that I believe in the most is that lacrosse is a team sport. I love to be on the field with my teammates, working together to make each other better, and going to battle knowing they have my back as much as I have theirs.
Academically and athletically I am very coachable. I'm the player in the huddle during the timeout that listens to my coaches and hears what they have to say. Then I go out on the field and do what is asked. Also, I'm the student that asks the teacher questions about the topic to make sure that I have a full understanding of everything and nothing is falling through the cracks.
I'm interested in the Engineering field and a few specializations have grabbed my attention.
Thank you for your consideration
-Shane Wyman
