Personal Statement
My name is Payton J. Stump and I am in the graduating class of 2019. I am looking for a college that will push me to the very limits and really shape my character. I have been playing lacrosse for 9 years current and striving to continue in college. I have been playing varsity lacrosse since my freshman year at East Meadow High School as a close defender and long stick middie. We are a conference A team that made the playoffs my freshman year as a 5th seed and also sophomore year. I was a starter my freshman year and I am a starter sophomore year as well. Sophomore year I was humble to receive Academic All-Conference. My dominant hand is Lefty, but over the years I have been playing, my right has grown as strongly. To also compete on a high level at a young age, I have been weight training 3 days a week and speed and agility 2 days a week. I continue to practice each day for hours either on the field or in my backyard to push for perfection. In addition to lacrosse, I play golf, basketball and swim a ton to improve technique, coordination, and endurance. Sports is not the only occupation I do after school, I am in clubs such as Key Club, Social Studies Honor Society, Science Honor Society, and next year will be eligible for National Honors Society. When I have time available I volunteer at my assistant coaches lacrosse clinic for newly developing players. Sophomore year I have scored top 18 percent in my class for the PSAT exam. I am eager to maintain a 4.0 GPA while taking honors classes and next year, College level courses. The major I want to take in college is either Medicine or engineering. It has always been a dream of mine to play lacrosse at the college level and I will strive in every aspect whether it will be on the field or in the classroom to make it reality.
