Personal Statement

Life begins one step at a time, Life is like steps each year you live you go up each step. Each person is unique. Life isn’t a fairy tale or a book you don’t just start it and you don’t just end it. The world we live in has history to it and I’m a part of history and I make history live on with the rest of the stars in the sky.  Something that hits me deep down that stays bolded into me forever is being born into a poor country called Guatemala.

All say a mother knows best for her child. My mom was a single mother of two. It was me and my brother who was a year older than me in a country as beautiful as it looks it was as poor as any other country. It was to the point my mom had to take things in her own hands and do better for the both of us. She put us up for adoption my brother went first with a family from Britain and was named Charlie and me I was left back not even one . But god has a plan for all of us later on I was adopted a couple days before my second birthday to a great family in New York. This leaves a mark on me because I know what goals I have in my life to succeed and in order for me to succeed in these goals I have to trace my steps to realize how far I got and I can’t stop now . It’s the scars left in me from my past that makes me feast for more energy to do great.  Life is beautiful don’t you think so to. It’s all a part of my story to keep on fighting. To be an athlete scholar takes a lot of hard work and dedication. People will doubt you but can’t let that stop you even if it means sacrificing.

A sacrifice I will always remember is the sacrifice of time to play football to learn life lessons every day and always be honored to be coached by Coach Demateo, he taught me that the world is in my hands. How it may be hard to get up but once you’re up it don’t matter how many times they knock you down it’s about if you get back up, that it’s not always about running your mouth to get back at someone. He taught me to live and enjoy the moment, to live every day like if someone is watching you .Football turned me into a man with respect and disciplined and people can look at me like a man . Why I say this is because if it wasn’t for a life of experiencing commitment and sacrificing it make me become who I am till this day.

They’ll kill a random person and they’ll tell you he’s a criminal. Welcome to America this type of stuff is typical. Wake up in the morning now you’re doing the impossible. Isn’t life beautiful? Once you feel unstoppable you run into an obstacle isn’t life comical. I am not alone in my adventure throughout the struggles the support of loved ones give me the extra boost to the top of the stairs. All this comes to know this day in time where every day my star gets brighter and brighter when no one’s looking at it will be the brightest of them all. Can everyone see me now or is it not bright enough it will get there and my time will come all the tears will go away and happiness would shed down the faces of all.
