Personal Statement
My goal is to play a sport I love in college - lacrosse. I've played many sports all my life, and ice hockey since I was 6 years old. I can't imagine life without playing a team sport I love with teammates that I value, and a coach that will make me better. Team athletics has been key to me thriving academically, and as I explore the world of business and finance, I'll be a better student with athletics. I was introduced to lacrosse in middle school, and fell in love with it. There are many similar skills and strategies between lacrosse and ice hockey, that I took to it naturally. In my experience, I know that nothing comes easy. I have a strong drive to be better and passion to win. I am very coachable and have solid lacrosse IQ and game sense.
But there are two main reasons why you should consider me. Grit and resilience. I've learned first-hand about these characteristics in both athletics and academics. From being the underdog to winning the National Championship hockey tournament during my freshman year, to being diagnosed with a learning disability in sophomore year, to coming back academically strong in my senior year after COVID tried to destroy my junior year, I have learned that using grit and resiliency to overcome obstacles is a powerful formula for success. I would love to speak to you more about my experiences.
