Hello, my name is Nick Honkomp and I have been playing lacrosse since I was 12. I also play soccer.
I stared playing lacrosse four years ago when I decided to attend a lacrosse camp at a local high school during my 6th grade year. I continued to play rec ball my 7th grade year but I fell in love with the sport in the fall of my 8th grade year when I played for a travel team. Although I didn’t play much on the team and wasn’t a great player I kept at it and worked hard to get better and better. Now I am a 1st line middy and captain on the same travel team. It has been my dream to play in college for a long time now and I will do whatever it takes. The high school I attend opened it’s doors the year I entered 9th grade and did not offer lacrosse my freshman year. This year (sophomore) I will start on the varsity team. I played varsity soccer my freshman and sophomore years, and started both years. I love to play sports and I wouldn’t want to be doing anything else. I am also a good student in the classroom. I have a 3.67 weighted GPA and will keep working hard to improve my average. I spend time in front of my net at home, improving my skills away from the practice field. I am talented in both my left and my right hands. Midfield is my strongest position, but I can play attack as well. I am looking for a college with a sports marketing or athletic training major. All in all I put academics first, then lacrosse, but sports motivate me to work hard in the classroom.
