Personal Statement
I began playing lacrosse in the third grade, and it has truly changed my life. I have learned what it is like to be on a team and what it means to be a good teammate. Lacrosse has helped to shape who I am, but it has not completely shaped me. I do various works of service around my community both through my school as well as with my lacrosse team. I am the oldest in a family with four kids and that has forced me to become a leader. Throughout my life I have been working to be the best leader possible, and have been learning along the way.
My high school lacrosse career has not been the smoothest road so far, but I believe that I was made a better person because of these challenges. My freshman year, our program had a great coach and a strong set of senior leaders. We had a successful and fun season. Sophomore year was when it became a little more challenging. We had a new coach and a different set of leaders. That year was more challenging and not as successful. Through those two years, I have learned what it means to be a true leader, and what can happen to an average team under good leadership versus a good team under average leadership. I have a lot to offer on and off the lacrosse field and I know that I have what it takes to be a leader on your team. I love lacrosse and I plan to continue my education as well as lacrosse career into college.
