Personal Statement
My name is Charlie Hutchins. I live in Cincinnati, Ohio and I am a 2019 goalie at St. Xavier High School. I was voted captain by my teammates. I have played club lacrosse for eight years, initially with Cincinnati’s premier lacrosse club, the Cincinnati Royals. Starting in 2016 I joined a new club team, Cincinnati Chill Elite 2019. This past summer, 2016 I was selected for both the Brine All Ohio team and the Under Armour Midwest Underclassman team. I was also chosen to be a member of the Blue Chip 225 National Team, who I am currently playing for along with Cincinnati Chill Elite 2019.
I am a great leader both on and off the field. On the field I take control of my defense whether it is with my team or at a camp with kids I’ve just met. I understand the importance of every clear and am very trustworthy with the ball in my stick. I pride myself in having a high lacrosse IQ on both the offensive and defensive sides of the field.
Academics are my main priority in college. My goal in college is having the label of a student-athlete. Success in the classroom breeds success on the field, and vice versa. I strive to be the best I can be in the classroom and on the field. My desire is to attend a school that also stresses the role of student-athlete. I am the ideal candidate for your team because, as a goalie, I will be the team leader. I always work as hard as I can in everything I do, including academics and athletics. I understand the importance of leading by example. I have a positive attitude toward everything in life. This is why I am looking for a lacrosse program that is truly dedicated to excellence and team success both on and off the field.
