Personal Statement
My collegiate goal is to get a good education that prepares me for my career. I am still unsure which field of study I am interested in at this point. I believe I would be a good candidate to play lacrosse at the college level because I have juggled a rigorous homeschool education with year-round sports successfully thus far. I also have a unique upbringing that has prepared me to face challenges with a positive attitude. My dad is a retired Marine and because of this, I moved every two to three years. It taught me how to break into new teams and build bonds quickly. I also had to work a lot harder to prove myself to new coaches each time. I believe that I am coachable and I'm always willing to learn new things. In fact, up until this past year, I was a midfielder and moved to goalie when the coach asked me to step up to it. I had no interest in playing goalie but tackled it head on to help my team. In the process I ended up loving the position and am eager to learn more so that I can excel there. My dad taught me that character is who I am when no one is watching and that the same boiling water that softens the potato hardens the egg. No matter what adversity I face, I'm confident that my commitment to God, family, country, and team will pull me through as a stronger individual.
