I am a multi-sport athlete who has played up or been a starter every year since I began organized sports in second grade. Sports are part of who I am. I like the competition and belonging to something bigger than myself. Some people see it as a grind. I like the grind and find it rewarding. I love being part of a team and can’t imagine not being an athlete. I am currently the starting cornerback for varsity football and a starting midfielder for varsity lacrosse at a large 6 A school in western PA. I'm 1 of 2 players who lettered for varsity my freshman year in lacrosse and 1 of 5 to letter as a sophomore in football on an 85 player team.
It is important to me to stand out on my teams as a hard worker, leader, and a coachable player. I learn from my mistakes and look for ways to grow after every game and practice. I’m a quiet leader who will speak up when needed but leads by example. I work hard to be respectful and encourage teammates. I'm appreciative of the opportunities I’ve had and work hard to earn them.
I also try to set an example by helping others off the field. I have an older brother with special needs who has had a great impact on my life and taught me to accept others with differences. It has been hard at times, but as I grew up I realized he needed me to have his back and stand up for him. I also became a volunteer for a peer buddies program because it is important to me to include kids with special needs in activities that I love.
Other activities I enjoy include playing violin, playing rec basketball and learning and speaking German. My goal is to earn an opportunity to play lacrosse at the next level and finish my college degree at a great school. I am putting in the time to make both happen!
