Personal Statement

Thank you for reviewing my profile.

I started my athletic career playing football at the age of 5. Since then I have continued football through 8th grade, selected as Quarterback for 2015 season.  I joined the local Klein Lacrosse Club in 2012 as a walk on and expect to stay with the club through varsity placement. I have attended various football camps (Texas A&M, University of Houston) as well as lacrosse camps (IMG, RIT, 3D Box, University of Dallas, Rogue Lacrosse, T99).  I am ambidextrous with an advantage to my left hand.

I was selected to the All Stars for 2018 Liberty Nationals (DE) and have played select club team lacrosse for 4 years. I also finished my JV season for Klein Lacrosse (TX) having an undefeated 2017 season, 8-0. Called up to play Varsity for playoffs Regional. 2017-2018 Varsity starter wrapping up season as Houston City Champions for D2 South THSLL.  I am a physical player and welcome coaching instructions and direction to help the team and my game. I enjoy learning new techniques and strategies from all my trainers and coaches as well as studying game video to learn about opposing teams. In 2018 I became a certified lacrosse official and presently officiate youth level games for TLOA (local association for officials)

While my priorities are academics I am very interested in playing lacrosse for a academically challenging university.  As I develop additional coaching references I will update my profile.

Best regards,

Jared Lawrence

  • Good morning Mr. Lawerence, I don't know if Jared told you about last night at practice we were scrimmaging as a team and I was suited up playing with the team. I played pretty aggressively on Jared putting about three or four stick checks on stick/hands and pushing him down while we were playing. As practice came to an end I noticed Jared seemed pretty upset. If he was upset because of me (which I'm pretty certain he is), I just want to say sorry. I'm not out there to embarrass, degrade or make any of the players feel any resentment towards myself, the program or the sport of lacrosse. As far as Jared goes, he's one of my favorite players to coach and I want him to continue to learn and grow within the sport, to love it and enjoy himself as well as his teammates and coaches. Again, I want to apologize to Jared. If yourself, Mrs. Lawerence or Jared would like to talk about it before next practice, my cell phone is: (713) 416-2999. Hope you have a great day! - Joe Watson
