Personal Statement
Team sports means family to me. Words like "brothers," "family" and "all in" to me are not just sounds made in the heat of the moment. For me, these words describe what I love best about competing as a team.
Lacrosse is in my DNA. My dad's dad played in college, my dad played in college and my sister plays in college (Rhodes College) and my mom started a club lacrosse program in New Castle, Australia.
For many seasons I played attack and as of last summer I switched to midfielder at the inspiration of a D1 player (Loyola and Denver) I know. Even after starting at attack on the 2019 State Championship team I knew that I could be even more valuable to that team or my next team as a midfielder.
This transition has not been perfect yet through the struggle to learn a new position I have learned just how committed I am to play, and how much I desire to be a contributing member and a great teammate at the college level. This has lead me to make early morning workouts or late night conditions session, even though often jus by myself, part of my junior season as I know that this type of commitment will be part of the regular course of competing at the college level.
I will arrive to your campus, dorms, classrooms, team and to the greater school community as one of your most unique lacrosse recruits.
I have lived, studied and played lacrosse in Australia, have completed an intensive wilderness leadership course (Colorado Outward Bound), have explored all seven continents, I speak fluent Mandarine Chinese, play football and hockey (played rugby in Australia) and made a successful transition from public high school to Philips Exeter Academy where just last week and after only one year on campus I was selected by the faculty to serve as a Senior Proctor in the oldest dorm on campus.
I coordinate a student lead organization called HelpingStudents.com where we, the students, assist other students in all academic and even some social areas.
While playing for an elite lacrosse national club team last summer (Thunder LB3 2022 National Team) I learned there is much for me to learn about the game and I expect to keep learning and learning more about how best I can serve a college/university by representing it as valued member of it men's lacrosse team.
