Personal Statement

My goals and aspirations include: graduating with an advanced high school diploma, attending a military service academy or top university with an ROTC program to become a United States military commissioned officer, playing NCAA men's lacrosse, and serving my country in the future. I have competed in multiple sports, including both high school and club/travel teams, such as lacrosse, football, basketball, and martial arts (earning a karate black belt, being a gold medal tournament champion, and training across the USA and in Okinawa, Japan). Academically, I have earned a cumulative GPA of 3.890, and have taken several honors classes in both middle school and high school, and made Honor Roll for every quarter of each year during high school. Received Varsity Letter Award and Athletic Honor Roll Award for Lacrosse.

I have developed leadership traits, such as confidence, courage, integrity, discipline, and perseverance, through the Navy JROTC program at my high school since my freshman year. I also have learned valuable things from playing team sports, such as character, hard work, adaptation, sportsmanship, commitment, and teamwork.

I regularly participate in community service, through the JROTC and summer programs, and have done services that include: cemetery work, highway clean-up, church charities, teaching karate and women’s self-defense seminars, and helping senior citizens in retirement homes. I am excited and look forward to the next phase of my life in college.
