Kaden Brunson '20 Recruiting Profile

Lacrosse has been a big part of my life over the past few years, even though I only started playing about six years ago. I joined my first lacrosse team in Madison, WI after I heard about how fun it was from a lot of my hockey buddies. I joined the team and have loved the sport ever since then. My team in the first few years may not have had the greatest record, winning maybe 1 or 2 games per season, but it was a great learning experience for me even though I may not have known it at the time.  I learned that in order to be successful you need to have the attitude that you are going to be better than everyone else on the field in order to help your team.   I learned to help everyone on my team possess that same attitude as well. Those few years really helped me grow into a player that is always looking to help my team, and I brought that attitude to my high school team this year after I transferred to Sun Prairie High School.

I believe I am a great fit for colleges because of my abilities to be a positive leader.  I am a part of a leadership group for my hockey team where I am learning many great qualities it takes to be a positive leader both on and off the field/ice. I also participated in a World Leadership Forum in Washington, D.C. with a program called People to People. My attitude to strive in the classroom is a great one because I know that academics comes before athletics, and that I will need a greater academic than athletic background for the majority of my life. Also, I believe my ability to put the team before myself is something great to have because I value players who are looking to give all of their efforts to the team and not to themselves. This is why I think I could be a great addition to your team!
