With the upcoming year, I plan to pull my first 5k with a split average that breaks 1.49.0 and end the year with a 2k that has a split average of 1.39.0 - 1.38.0. I am also currently in heavy consideration for the Head of The Charles men’s four that we will be sending this year and will soon be seat racing for the position of stroke seat. Through achieving the goal of consistently PRing, my erg scores will be bettered going into my senior year of high school and will make me more appealing to the eyes of numerous colleges. Therefore, I aspire to go to a college where I can row all of the years that I am in attendance as rowing has become such an integral part of my life. I believe that I am a good candidate for collegiate teams as I have an extremely immense amount of grit. I come to practice early everyday to get as many meters in on the erg as possible and spend extra days outside of practices doing the same thing so that I can constantly see improvement in myself as an athlete. I have, in the past, spent the greatest amount of time over summer at the boathouse preparing for the upcoming season through time spent on the water, on the ergs, or lifting weights. I tend to hold myself to high standards and morals in both academic and athletic terms. The idea that I hold myself to a high academic standard is reflected through my GPA and how I am currently a member of the National Honors Society (NHS) at my school, Saint Francis High School. I consider myself an extremely motivated athlete and student with an incredible amount dedication that will push me past my known limit so that I can achieve the goals that I have set for myself.
