I Junior at St. Ignatius College Preparatory in San Francisco, CA. I row 5 seat in the V1 8+, JV 8+, which we won first place at the SRAA National Championships. Additionally, I row Bow in the V1 4+. I knew nothing about Crew before I tried out for the team in the Spring of my freshman year. Ever since making this life altering decision, my whole academic, athletic, and personal life have all changed for the better. While originally I did not even make the novice "C" boat for the first regatta of the season, I finished my year racing in the U16 8+ Finals of both the SRA Nationals and Youth Nationals. My hard work and commitment to the sport lead to both these achievements, as well as being awarded the "Most Improved Rower" on my at the end of my first season. I continue to love the sport and push myself to improve each and every practice. This fall, I was one of two underclassmen at my school to have ever been selected to race in The Head of the Charles Regatta. Outside of practice, I enjoy challenging myself in the classroom, through taking many honors classes, and holding myself to a high academic standard. I also participate in my school community through Choir, Stem Club Leadership, and Entrepreneur Club. I am looking for a college where I can row at the most competitive level possible, while pursuing my undergraduate degree.
